Susie and I grew up together and became high school sweethearts. We were both raised in good churchgoing homes and came to personal faith in Jesus Christ through the outreach of students from the local church community. In college we learned to become followers of Jesus through the discipleship ministry of some Campus Crusade for Christ staff. Their personal training, encouragement and life examples shaped our lives and the ministry we are called to today.
When we married and joined a good growing church, we saw the profound need to bring personal, life-on-life, discipleship back into the local church. After almost twenty years of personal disciplemaking as laymen, God called us to be set apart full-time to share the gospel, make disciples, and help make biblical disciplemaking the true purpose and practice of the local church. Now, as field staff members of Discipleship Network of America, we have the opportunity to devote ourselves to modeling a lifestyle of personal evangelism and discipleship, and training individuals and churches to make this their way of life also. Our vision is to multiply Jesus’ disciplemaking ministry wherever He leads us.
I now serve as executive director and full-time staff member of Journeymen Ministries. Susie and I served several years on the staff of Life Builders, a church and community based evangelism and disciplemaking ministry of CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ). I served for two years as a disciplemaking church leadership trainer for Disciplepath, a ministry of Training Network International. I am the founder of Journeymen Ministries and author and developer of the JOURNEYMEN Men’s Discipleship curriculum. I am a licensed minister with International Ministerial Fellowship and an evangelist to county jail inmates. For the last thirty five years Susie and I have served as disciplemaking lay-leaders and raised our family at Grace Church in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
We have five fantastic kids and seven grandkids. We all love music, sports, being outdoors, serving others, playing games, and just hanging out together.
