Joe Nordstrom, executive director and full-time staff member of Journeymen Ministries, is available to support you and your disciplemaking efforts. 

Joe served seven years on the staff of Life Builders, a church and community based evangelism and disciplemaking ministry of CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ), and two years as a disciplemaking church leadership trainer for DisciplePath and TNet (Training Network International). Joe has extensive experience in both personal evangelism and discipleship, and training pastors in effective disciplemaking ministry methodology and organization. Joe is the founder of Journeymen Ministries and author and developer of the JOURNEYMEN Men’s Discipleship curriculum. Joe is a licensed minister with International Ministerial Fellowship and an evangelist to county jail inmates. For the last 35 years Joe and his wife Susie have served as disciplemaking lay-leaders at Grace Church in Eden Prairie, Minnesota where they live with their family.

Journeymen
Small Group Leader
Training

Getting leaders off on the right foot and setting them up for success. This brief seminar will equip men with biblical and practical training in the best practices for starting and leading a small group of men through the Journeymen Discipleship studies and training.   (This can be followed up with one or more debriefing and encouragement sessions.)

Leadership Principles
for Discipling Men

Strengthening discipleship leaders’ convictions and skills. This brief seminar gives men’s small group leaders a broader biblical foundation for disciplemaking and sharpens their effectiveness in their ministry.

Men’s
Discipleship Ministry
in the Church

Starting, growing, and sustaining a multiplying men’s discipleship ministry in your church. In this series of three or more short seminars and training sessions, leaders will develop a sound strategy for bringing men into the fellowship, moving them forward in the discipleship process and raising up new leaders. They will be trained in how to use both large and small group meetings, leader apprenticeship, mentoring, outreach and service projects to create a comprehensive disciplemaking church ministry to men.  (This can also include a series of followup debriefing and encouragement sessions.)

Whole Church
Discipleship Strategy
and Training

Getting the whole church making disciples together.  This is a comprehensive ministry methodology and organizational strategy and training session. A series of leadership meetings and projects to ensure that all of the ministries and resources of the church are working together to make disciples of all attenders. This would involve the pastoral and lay leadership working together in a series of several seminars and development projects over several months time. It would include insights from other experienced disciplemaking church leadership teams and thorough followup support to promote long-term health and effectiveness.

Starting Strong Marriages
Leadership Training

Equipping experienced couples to invest in the next generation of marriages and families. This short seminar would give leader couples the vision and practical training they need to begin leading a “Starting Strong Marriages” small group for young married couples in their church and community. This is a simple ministry model but provides a much-needed ministry in the church.

New Man Jail Ministry
Training

Equipping men for ministry in the county jails. This training and mentorship would be on an individual basis for those called to reach out to incarcerated men. I would be glad to pass on all that I and others have learned about how to serve in this unique mission field.

What Is Journeymen Discipleship All About?

Journeymen Discipleship is all about helping men become true disciples of Jesus Christ. It’s about providing a place where men can be real with a few other men, grow up in their faith, and become more like Jesus in all of their relationships. It’s about calling Christian men to a higher standard and giving them biblical truth and practical training to live a life devoted to Jesus and His cause.
